this is because the game uses HTML/CSS directly as a rendering system, and at least on windows this somehow translates to being impacted reaaally heavily by other web-based rendering processes. maybe even try changing which monitor you have it on, especially if you're on a laptop, cause that apparently affects which GPU the process uses.
